3rd Annual #EmpireCares Donation Drive
Join us as we come together to make a difference in our community!
KANSAS CITY, KS, Saturday, November 4th, 2023 —Looking for a way to give back to your community? Empire Candle Co., LLC will be hosting our 3rd Annual #EmpireCares Donation Drive to benefit local non-profits in the KCK community! Join volunteers on Saturday, November 4th, 2023 in the main parking lot of Empire’s 2925 Fairfax Trafficway location.
We will be collecting:
Non-perishable food items (i.e., pre-portioned snacks, drinks)
Hygiene products (i.e., feminine products, shampoo, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, laundry detergent, disposable razors)
School supplies (i.e., notebooks, pens/pencils, backpacks)
New / Unwrapped toys valued at $10 or more
Gently used, warm, youth-sized coats
All of these donations will directly benefit families in the Kansas City area through strong partnerships with Heartland 180, Michael Bergen’s Hands to Heart, and Giving The Basics.
The event on November 4th is scheduled from 10 AM until 2PM and is open to the public, we encourage every one near and far to come and drop-off donations. We’ll be giving all donors a free surprise candle (while supplies last). In addition to the donation drive, We have many other fun activities planned, including food trucks, local community resources, and activities for children.
Last November, the donation drive helped to plant a seed in the Wyandotte County community and we plan to nurture it and grow this event year after year. There are many families in need this time of year who manage to “fall through the cracks” in the system – thanks to last year’s event, we were able to help over 200 families who were in this category. Out of 104 counties in Kansas, Wyandotte County ranks 104th in overall health, quality of life, health factors, and socio-economic factors.
